Dark Chocolate Date Smoothie

No need for an introduction here- another wholesome smoothie from the GirlAroundTheFood's smoothie series, with nourishing and simple ingredients! Imagine having a bowl of chocolate for breakfast in a bowl...well, imagine no more!
This Chocolate Date Smoothie will take you all the way and it will satisfy your sweet tooth! For all the chocolate lovers out there, I think this one here will definitely win them over and by adding your favorite toppings, it'll be even more enjoyable!
ingredients:
-1 banana, small
-2 dates, fresh/soft (soaked in hot water for about 20 minutes/overnight)
-1 tablespoon organic cacao powder(any other will work)
-250 ml plant based milk
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract(optional)

directions:
-throw all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until you get a thick smoothie
-pour the smoothie in a bowl and garnish it with your favorite toppings

As toppings, I used: homemade GirlAroundTheFood granola, banana coins and sprinkle of pumpkin and buckwheat seeds!
Feel free to use any other topping that you'd like/ have on hand.
This smoothie also makes a perfect on-the-go breakfast/ snack to bring along with you to school, uni, work or simply, a walk. You top it with your favorite fruits, some granola and nut butter, or enjoy it plain as it is!
