Oh my, where to start? I can easily put these on the top of my list of favorite desserts, next to my Raw Twix Bars. Last summer, I went on a trip to Split with my lovely friends and we were very excited to go to a very famous burger place there, where they had so many vegan options and such different raw vegan dessert options!
I absolutely love that place, I regret NOTHING and the money I spent there are the best I ever did- I just can't wait to go back there again one day! So, the verdict of this story was that these Raw Walnut Cacao Brownies are inspired by Split and the raw brownies I ate there <3 just the taste brings so much memories and takes me back- lovely feeling!

ingredients:
-1 cup walnuts
-1 cup roasted hazelnuts
-1 cup soft/ fresh dates
-2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
-1 teaspoon cinnamon
-3/4 cup coconut oil, melted*
-3 tablespoons raw cacao powder*
-3 tablespoons maple syrup*
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract*
*these ingredients will be needed to make the chocolate layer, but you can alternatively use a melted dark chocolate instead

directions:
place the walnuts and hazelnuts in a blender/ food processor and blend until you get a flour-like consistency
to that, add the dates, cinnamon and cacao powder. Blend until you get a semi- sticky mixture that when you press it between your fingers, it holds together
in a bread pan(like one for banana bread)/ square container add the mixture and with your fingers/ back of a spoon push the mixture down and around, forming a nice and even layer
for the chocolate part, add the coconut oil in a small sauce pan on medium heat and let it melt completely before add all of the rest ingredients, stirring non-stop until everything is well combined
finally, pour the chocolate over the first layer, cover the pan and place it in a freezer(I recommend you leave it overnight)

After they're done freezing, cut them into narrow bars, like in the picture, or cut them into squares! Don't forget to enjoy every bite of them and let all of the flavor melt in your mouth!
