Coming through with another snack idea, yet again! When I tried these, I was speechless. They're so rich in flavor, they're sweet and indulgent and that orange zest is responsible for all of that!
They're the perfect comforting snack/ dessert to pair with a cup of warm tea/ coffee. So, long story short, I just want to share this recipe. Without further ado, enjoy!

ingredients you'll need:
-1 cup walnuts
-1 cup rolled oats
-pinch of salt
-1 tsp cinnamon
-zest from 1 orange
-1/2 cup soft dates (pitted)
-1 cup pure peanut butter/ any other nut butter of your choosing
-1/2 cup pure maple syrup

directions:
-place the walnuts and soft dates in a food processor/ blender and blend them*
-place that mixture in a bowl. Add to that the oats, pinch of salt and cinnamon
-add the zest from 1 orange
-to all of that, finally add the peanut butter and maple syrup**
-place the mixture on a paper-lined baking dish and spread it out evenly
-bake at 180 Celsius for about 30 minutes/ until lightly golden.
*you can also just grind the walnuts separately and in a different bowl mash the soft dates with a fork
**the mixture should look like the one on the photo below

Let the bars chill before you cut them into squares and you can garnish them with your favorite topping- melted dark chocolate is a win-win in my opinion. But also you can add more orange zest or maybe coconut flakes/chips.
